FS to visit Shanghai

The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will fly to Shanghai on Friday (May 14) for a two-day visit.

On arrival in Shanghai on May 14, Mr Tsang will attend as guest of honour "Asian Fashion Blooming of Shanghai - Special Present for World Expo 2010" organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

Mr Tsang will inspect the Hong Kong Pavilion and Hong Kong's Urban Best Practices Area Exhibition on May 15 to see the full commitment of Hong Kong to Expo 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo).

In the afternoon, Mr Tsang will officiate at the "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies" exhibition - a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region programme for Shanghai Expo organised by the Hong Kong Design Centre. The exhibition showcases the innovation and branding power of Hong Kong designers to Mainland and global audiences.

Mr Tsang will depart for Harbin on May 16 to lead a business delegation on a visit to Heilongjiang Province in China and Vladivostok in Russia between May 16 and 22 to foster closer economic relationships with these places.

During Mr Tsang's absence, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, will act as Financial Secretary.
