Shanghai Expo Hong Kong Week Opening Ceremony to be broadcast live

The Opening Ceremony of Hong Kong Week, World Expo 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo) will be held at the Baosteel Stage (Large) of the Expo Park at 11.45am tomorrow (October 20).

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Donald Tsang, and the Mayor of Shanghai, Mr Han Zheng, will officiate at the ceremony.

The ceremony, lasting about one hour, will comprise a number of entertaining performances.

Those taking part will include Canto-pop doyen Joseph Koo, singers Alan Tam, Frances Yip, Kay Tse, Eric Suen and the band "Mr.", renowned violinist Yao Jue, erhu master Wong On-yuen, and the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ng Ka-ming. The music score has been arranged by Hong Kong Week musical director Dr Mui Kwong-chiu.

Produced by the Radio Television Hong Kong, the opening ceremony will be broadcast live on ATV High Resolution Channel, Cable TV Live News Channel and TVB PayVision News Channel 2.
