Chinese New Year e-cards on Hong Kong's Expo website (with photos)

To promote Hong Kong's participation in Expo 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo), two Chinese New Year e-cards celebrating the Year of Tiger were released today (January 25).

The e-cards, featuring the Hong Kong Pavilion and Hong Kong's "Urban Best Practices Area" (UBPA) Exhibition, can be customised with personal and traditional Lunar New Year greetings.

The environmentally friendly e-cards can be accessed from Hong Kong's Expo website at www.hkexpo2010.gov.hk under the "Multi-media Zone" menu tab.

Apart from the e-cards, the website includes a wealth of information on Hong Kong's participation in the Shanghai Expo.

Internet users are welcome to visit the website any time to get the latest information on Hong Kong's activities and programmes planned before and during the Shanghai Expo.

Shanghai Expo will be held from May 1 to October 31, 2010 at the waterfront area on both sides of the Huangpu River in Shanghai.

More than 240 countries and international organisations will participate in the Shanghai Expo, which is expected to attract 70 million visitors from the Mainland and worldwide.

Hong Kong's participation covers four aspects: building and operating a stand-alone Hong Kong Pavilion; taking part in the UBPA Exhibition; taking part in "Expo Shanghai Online"; and organising a range of events and activities before and during the six-month Shanghai Expo period.

Under the theme "Hong Kong - A City with Unlimited Potential", the Hong Kong Pavilion has a sleek contemporary design to showcase the infinite imagination and creativity of Hong Kong and its people. The Pavilion's three exhibition levels will highlight different aspects of Hong Kong's connectivity and creativity.

The theme of Hong Kong's UBPA exhibition is "Smart Card . Smart City . Smart Life". The exhibition will showcase how the extensive and innovative use of modern smart card and Radio Frequency Identification technology have improved the quality and efficiency of urban life in Hong Kong.
